On the 23rd of February at 10.30 a.m. at Club La Naranja in calle Malaga there will be an informative meeting for all the owners of the urb. Sitio de Calahonda.

The matters arising will be the following:

- Security
- 2012 Budget
- Town Hall
- Works on Avda. de España
- Little train

The Guardia Civil has informed us that there is a telephone number where you can make reports and that they attend in all languages. Subsequently you must go sign the report at the National Police Station. Reports Telephone 902 102 112.

DAY OF THE TREE

On the 8th of December as from 11 a.m. we will be holding the Day of the Tree. We will get together again to re-afforest the area at the roundabout at the bottom of Avda. de Europa, next to the tunnel, with autochthonous trees. We will put a placard with the name of the child or adult who has planted the tree.

GUARDIA CIVIL INFORMATIVE LEAFLETS

We inform you that at our office we have at your disposal informative leaflets of the Guardia Civil about security in ten languages. Feel free to visit us and collect one.

CALAHONDA DAY

Dear Neighbours,
We inform you that the party for the Day of Calahonda will be held on the 2nd of July at the Parque Calahonda next to the Tree Nursery.
The activities carried out will be the following:
7 p.m. Animation group for the children. Sweeties and drinks will be given out and their will be games and the medals will be handed out.
9 p.m. The party for the adults will start with music. A free drink will be given and presents will be raffled.
There will be a bar offering food and drink.

CHANGE OF POSTAL ADDRESS

We inform you that all properties that have had their address changed must notify it to the Town Hall by filling in a form that you can collect at the EUC office, together with an identification document or passport; this change can be presented at La Cala Town Hall between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The Ordinary General Assembly of EUC Sitio de Calahonda will be held on 31st of March, first calling al 10:00hrs. a.m. and second calling at 10:30 hrs., at Club La Naranja in c/Málaga.
All members attending the Annual Assembly can collect their voting cards at the EUC office during the week prior to the meeting.

DAY OF THE TREE

On the 29th of January as from 11 a.m. we will get together again to re-afforest the area at the roundabout at the bottom of Avda. de Europa, next to the tunnel, with autochthonous trees. We will put a placard with the name of the child or adult who has planted the tree.

PINE TREE CATERPILLAR

We would like to inform you that this is the time for the treatment of pine trees against the procession of caterpillars. This decease shows itself by large white cotton wool balls on the branches which turn into caterpillars which subsequently eat the foliage. These caterpillars may also affect people and animals. This plague is spreading more and more and is attacking types of pine trees it didn’t used to. We have been treating the pines very successfully for the past 10 years. The E.U.C. treats all relative green zones, but there are private and community areas which need treating so that the disease does not fly onto healthy areas. We have been speaking with Mijas Town Hall, with the environment department, and they have informed us that according to the Law, owners of pine trees are obliged to treat them.

Law 43/2002, of November 20, of vegetal health.

Article 13. Obligations of individuals

1 It corresponds to the owners of exploitations or other surfaces with vegetation:

a. Maintain their crop, plantations and harvest, and the forest masses and natural means in good fitosanitary condition in defence of their own plantations and others.

b. Apply the obligatory fitosanitary measures stated when there is a plague.

The EUC will soon be treating the pine trees of all the green areas, it is then when the owners can treat their pine trees at the same price we get. We advise you that from here, in collaboration with Mijas Town Hall, we are going to make owners fulfil the current law.
